DEC 14 FARM HOLIDAY DINNER - BADASSERY of GRANDMAS
Neu Mune Farmstead Holiday Dinner Event: To Protect, Honor & Preserve The Badassery of Grandmas
Join us at Neu Mune Farmstead for a sneak preview of our The Badassery of Grandmas Farm Dinner Series launching in 2025. Whether she's Nana, Nonna, Abuela, Lola, Ba, or Nainai—one thing remains true: she's a force of nature. These women have navigated hardships and kept family secrets, especially in the kitchen, passing down recipes that are rare to find outside the home.
While the full series officially launches in 2025, we’re offering a preview and farm fundraiser event on December 14, 2024, showcasing incredible women who honor their cultural heritage through food. We will have these three “grandma” chefs:
D’ondre Bedford of Mama Green’s – Southern comfort food passed down from her late grandmother, Earlene Green, from Mississippi. D’ondre operates “Mama Green’s,” a boutique dining experience with highly sought-after reservations. Menu: Dirty Chili, Jalapeño Cheddar Cornbread and Grandma’s Southern Teacakes
Wendy Hernandez – A young grandma herself, sharing Baja Mexican flavors that reflect her family’s rich culinary traditions. Menu: It’s the holidays, so holiday tamales!
Lan Thai, aka Lando of FAMMá FARM – Southern Vietnamese cuisine inspired by traditional recipes passed down from her late mother, Kim-Sa Nguyen, who fled Vietnam by boat at the end of the war while pregnant with Lan, seeking a better life for her children.
Just ADDED social media sensation “That Lady Anna!” - 73-year old Italian grandma from Calabria region of Southern Italy! Anna Lombardi Prezio. Menu: Tiramisu
We’re also collaborating with Portal, a lifestyle brand and movement that seeks to inspire inner power for positive change. Portal will provide live music, breathwork, and somatic exercises led by Brandon Parkhurst and Frankie Salazar. These wellness activities will create a holistic experience that connects food, mind, body, and spirit, grounding the meal in both physical nourishment and mental restoration.
A Movement to Preserve the Badassery of Traditions
At Neu Mune Farmstead, we are deeply committed to growing the fruits and vegetables that these chefs need to authentically recreate their family recipes. Our dedication to regenerative farming and sustainable practices supports not only the chefs but also the traditional regenerative agricultural methods that have nourished people for generations.
The Badassery of Grandmas series is about more than food—it’s about restoring balance. We believe that by caring for both mothers and Mother Earth, everything else falls into place. Many of today’s solutions are rooted in the wisdom of the past, passed down through generations.
